“Alone, we are but 1 drop of water; Together we are an ocean”
Many of us are born broken
Of a sad shame
There I was, a trafficking victim,
Alone in my pain.
This darkness wouldn’t break,
I’d heard of this place
A beacon of light
To help guide the way.
Greeted by the friendliest face
Lisa assured me- then
I knew I was safe.
Was given a tour
What did I see
A room full of strangers
Who’d been broken
Just like me
Couldn’t bear no more gloom
Cried to Dana
In a storage room
One by one
Hands reached out to me
Until I felt safer
Enough just to be
Each year passes by
I see more faces drawn inside
Guided by this light
I came with just the clothes on my back
6 years later I have a full life
With no lack
Fresh goals to look toward
See,
I’ll always pay this forward
As I appeal to All,
Whatever your place
We’re all in this together
As One Human Race
